JJ's Pizza was a Capitola venue (located at 38th and Portola) that hosted some new wave shows in 1979 and 1980. The all-ages shows were put on weekly by Band-Aide Productions. In some shows, kids threw wadded napkins, napkin holders and salt shakers onto the stage. When such items were not available, kids over-turned tables. This prompted JJ's to bar minors, but nearly 100 showed up for an Eddie & The Subtitles show. Cops were called "to prevent a riot in the parking lot" and seven squad cars arrived.
