Ray Nayler is a writer, artist and musician. He played upright and electric bass with the Chop Tops from 1995-1999. He has written and published a number of short stories in various genres, including mainstream literary fiction, crime and horror. He published a novel, American Graveyards, (TTA Press) in 2001, and joined the United States Peace Corps in 2003. He served in Turkmenistan. Since then he has lived in Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Afghanistan. He currently lives in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. He has published, in addition to his fiction, a number of travel articles and essays.
