Stacie Willoughby

From WikiSCUM

Stacie Willoughby is a Santa Cruz artist, promoter and vocalist. Since 2002, Stacie's flyers are more than just regular old who, what, when and where; her posters offer a lush and colorful addition to the varied rock and folk acts who petition for her employ. Her bright reds and chilling blues swirl about the paper, coyly leading eyes to the band names and venues. She is also noted for her ability to make the absolute best of limited black and white mediums. She is highly influenced by the San Francisco poster artists of the 60s like Rick Griffin and Moscoso, Crumb, Art Chantry, Raymond Pettibon, Mucha, Blake, Goya, Durer, Beardsley, and Gorey.

Stacie has also provided artwork for several album covers, as well as singing harmony in an augmented Loyal Sons and Daughters. She has worked at Front Street Thrift, the Saturn Cafe and Logos Books and Records and lived at the Close To Too Much Fun House and the Cube, setting up rock shows at both.

She has created album art for Loyal Sons and Daughters, Half Czar, Gross Gang, Whysp, The Grief Counsel, Mammatus, Residual Echoes, Grip Grand, Mushroom w/ Eddie Gale, El Chon, Here & Now, Misty Mountain, Denny Joints and more. She is responsible for most of the posters for (((folkYEAH!))), a West Coast music promoter, and her work has appeared in Anna, Galactic Zoo Dossier, Penny-Ante, Ptolemaic Terrascope, Fader Magazine, etc. She has also done art for Tee Pee Records. She is currently working on a number of projects for release in the Ukraine, England and Japan.
