Studio 80 (Studio 80 North) was a nightclub and occassional Santa Cruz venue located at 1685 Commercial Way. The venue might be most remembered for its regular all-male burlesque revues. It was owned by Art Cortez. They hosted some new wave bands in 1981. Booking was handled for a time by Michaelia Walker.

In mid-December, Studio 80 stopped hosting bands. Live music was replaced with DJs and wet t-shirt contests. Tao Chemical and The Batteries were told at the last minute that their New Years' Eve show at Studio 80 was canceled. The bands put together an impromptu show instead at the Mountain Store. Tao Chemical took Art Cortez to court.

In March 1982, it was renamed The Big Beat.
