Considering that the front page of the site keeps getting tagged by spammers, maybe it should be locked?

originally, i had locked the main page, but wikicities recommended i leave it unlocked. the fear expressed was that it might put off new uers. in light of the spam problem, however, i am going to permanently lock the main page. Kingturtle 01:37, 28 Sep 2005 (UTC)

I've unlocked this page again since it doesn't seem any named users have been active recently; I've put it on the staff watchlist to help deal with the spam, since it doesn't appear to have been occurring overwhelmingly often.
